Research carried out by Seating Matters at Ulster University showed that support from the correct chair can improve a person’s psychological, physiological and activity related function, and can reduce the occurrence of pressure injuries by up to 88%. Statistics also show that 1 in 5 patients across acute care, long term care and home care environments are affected by avoidable pressure ulcers and over 50% of those patients sadly die within 1 year.
