MAKING A DIFFERENCE WITH VOLUNTEERING
At Independence Mobility and Medical Hire, we believe in supporting the communities we serve. That's why we're proud to announce the launch of our volunteering initiative, designed to support local charities making a difference in our communities.

Giving Back Together
Every team member now has the opportunity to participate in a fully paid volunteering day each year, dedicating their time to causes that matter. But we're going beyond just showing up. In the weeks leading up to each volunteering day, teams organise donations and collections, ensuring we arrive ready to make a meaningful impact.
Our First Stop: Leeds South and East Food Bank
Our first team kicked off the initiative at Leeds South and East Food Bank, a crucial lifeline for individuals and families facing hardship in our community.
In the weeks before, colleagues across the company rallied together for a food collection, donating a wide range of essential items. On the day itself, the team rolled up their sleeves in the warehouse, unpacking, sorting, and organising hundreds of food trays.
The impact? 2,280kg of stock processed – the equivalent of 5,430 meals for local people in crisis.
The team left feeling inspired and humbled to have helped such a great charity.
Supporting St Gemma's Hospice Retail Store
Our second volunteering team recently spent a day at St Gemma's Hospice retail store in Rothwell, where they sorted through festive donations, steaming and organising them ready for the shop floor. We also encouraged everyone in the company to do a clear-out at home beforehand, bringing in unwanted items to donate to help raise additional funds for the charity.

More Than Just a Day
It's not just about the volunteering day itself, it's about the donations, the conversations, and the collective effort to support organisations making a real difference.
This initiative reflects who we are at our core. Helping others isn't just something we do on a volunteering day; it's what we stand for.
We're already looking forward to our next volunteering days and can't wait to share more stories of impact in the months ahead.
