Invacare Rea Dahlia Manual Wheelchair

Overview:

The Rea Dahlia is the leader in modern tilt in space wheelchairs. With a sleek and stylish appearance, it incorporates a narrow wheelbase and increased tilt options with easy adjustability, synonymous with the Invacare Rea range of passive wheelchairs. The Dahlia features two seat tilt angles of either 30° or 45°, improving the positioning capabilities to reduce pressure. Designed to manage all aspects of postural support and comfort, the versatile seating system offers a wide choice of options and adjustments to ensure the exact requirements of every individual are met. The Rea Dahlia is the chair of choice where increased seat tilt and compact manoeuvrability are key.

The Invacare Rea Dahlia wheelchair is designed to accommodate a range of positioning requirements.  Both tilt and recline are easily adjusted by attendant gas pistons for light and effortless positioning.  An optional electric controlled version offers independent control of posture and comfort.  Adjustments are abundant on the Rea Dahlia, with every aspect of the wheelchair and seating system adaptable for the perfect level of support and postural management.

Stability is a strong feature of the Rea Dahlia delivering exceptional safety and confidence for the client with our unique DSS (Dual Stability System) built into every wheelchair.  When tilting and reclining, the seating system moves forward along the frame. This weight shifting guarantees exceptional stability is maintained, even when in full tilt and recline.  Additionally, the pivot points of the Rea Dahlia match the natural pivot points of the person for synchronised movement between the body and wheelchair, reducing the risk of sheer and pressure.

Features:
  • Flex 3, Backrest Plate: Sturdy and adaptable, the Flex 3 backrest plate provides support, with both width and height adjustment. Available with a range of postural support cushions.
  • Flex 3, tension adjustable backrest: Built to accommodate more complex spinal shapes, it offers multiple adjustments suitable for all body shapes and sizes.  Available with a padded cover to compliment the contours of the tension straps or a range of postural support cushions.

  • Seat tilt and Backrest recline: The Rea Dahlia features 30° or 45° of seat tilt and 30° of backrest recline supporting a range of positions. The unique construction of the tilt and recline mechanism delivers a smooth and light action, ideal for smaller carers.
  • Outrigged Pivot Joint. Enables the pivot points of the backrest to be adjusted wider by 50mm overall, creating more seat space. A wider backrest is fitted which is ideal for those requiring additional support
  • Adjustable centre of gravity:  The rear wheel position can be adjusted to increase the lightness and manoeuvrability of the Dahlia. It also allows access to self-propel wheels for increased independence.  Transit wheels are available for attendant propulsion.
